Sick Boy

This is what happens when you have sick little boy who doesn't want to go to bed :(

These boots are made for walking

Jordyn got her first real pair of walking shoes on her birthday. We have had them on and off a couple of times as she tries to balance and wobble in the stiffness of new shoes. Her walk has basically turned into more of a marching action as she feels the weight of "real" shoes.
Is is sad to think that with real shoes comes the loss of my baby? I mean I realize she is over one now but she is still the baby.
I guess I just need to accept that these little steps are just the beginning of a life long road ahead that she will march (aka walk) proudly down.

So much sad news...

I just got horrible news. A friends baby has passed away at only 7 days old. His name was Cole and he was born with an omphalocele which means some of his organs were growing outside his little body in a protective sac. Unfortunately when he was born it was bigger then they expected and he ended up getting an infection.
I'm am so sad for this couple and can only hope and pray that they find comfort in God through this horribly devestating time in their lives.
RIP baby Cole and M&T I love you and will keep you in my prayers.

It’s hard to understand why you, our baby, died.

from this little one we can no longer hold,
who will always be a part of us, even when we're old.)

No more can he suffer any harm.
Bless him always and bless us too.
Be with us and help us to make it through.

Big Boy Bed!

Matthew graduated to a toddler bed and has transitioned with no problems at all. I think a big part of it is the fact that he is sharing a room with Corey and so of course he sees Corey in a "big boy bed" so Matthew thought he should try. It has been a seamless change and he just crawls into bed and goes to sleep. We will eventually put the boys in bunk beds but want to make sure he is good in this little bed first.

Good Friday in Gimli

After a nice morning at church it was such a beautiful day we though we should take a drive to Gimli for the afternoon. This is something we love to do as a family. It is a nice short drive and just a chance to change the scenery a little. The lake was still frozen enough that they were out with the bombardier doing some fising for Kris's fish and chips! Matthew thought this was the coolest thing ever.

The Results are in!

Thanks for all your support voting for Kianne over the past two weeks! The winner was announced yesterday and she didn't win. However she did place third overall!!!! I must say that out of the hundreds of kids entered that is pretty darn good :)
In my opinion she is still Winnipeg's coolest kid anyway and really that's all that matters ;)

The Last Day!!!

Today is the final day to vote for Kianne! She was in third place before they hid the top 10. I am hoping that we can band together and vote, vote, vote from as many computers as you have access too! Let's see what we can do! They will announce the winner tomorrow morning!
