Should have stayed in bed....

You know when it's one of those days where life would have been better had you not even gotten out of bed? Well so far today has certainly been one of them. The funny thing is that this morning for my fb status I specifically commented on what a great day it was going to be and it's like karma just had to come along and bite me in the a$$.
We started off the day by going to church where I worked in the nursery. Pretty safe so far. Jay sat in the service himself and of course our pastor went way over time but that is pretty much par for the course.
After church we wanted to run some errands and thought we would grab lunch at Costco. While there I let Jordyn play with my wallet as she was sitting in the cart. In this wallet of course had my cash from last nights wedding, my ID and all my bank cards etc... Well wouldn't you know somewhere along the way she must have dropped it! Panic sets in as we retrace all our steps through Costco. Can't find it anywhere. Oh did I mention this is the first time I'd even used this wallet?!? New purchase from Etsy.
Home we go feeling super deflated and depressed as everything I had worked for yesterday is gone :(
Get home and the phone rings. It is one of my couples waiting for me to do e pics at the park. Holy Smokes I totally forgot. I apologize profusely and run over there to do their session.
Hopefully that is all the mishaps for the day because I'm pretty worn out.
I'm just hoping some honest person will come across my wallet and turn it in...

Good Friday in Gimli

After a nice morning at church it was such a beautiful day we though we should take a drive to Gimli for the afternoon. This is something we love to do as a family. It is a nice short drive and just a chance to change the scenery a little. The lake was still frozen enough that they were out with the bombardier doing some fising for Kris's fish and chips! Matthew thought this was the coolest thing ever.

Just another manic Sunday???

Anyone who knows us knows that we are a family with a great church that we like to attend and even proudly call ourselves members. Every week we look forward to connecting with our friends, God and the true meaning of life. It's funny though that often right before and right after this hour and a half of peace is when the most turmoil occurs. It is as though that evil force known as Satan tries to take over and hinder our goal of getting there each week.
We can find a million reasons to not attend this Sunday. i.e. too early, slept in, kids sick, nice day to go out and do some yard work, (well not at this time of the year), worked a long wedding the Saturday before, and countless other excuses.
Once we get past the excuses it seems to be the craziness of getting everyone ready to go and getting out the door. I have come to the conclusion though that even if we are late because of some unexpected delay or one of the kids forgot to comb their hair or I still didn't get a sip of my coffee or the dog has peed on the floor it is still better to go then not. Once we are there no one cares that the dog peed on the floor, I am offered a cup of coffee, the kids hair is flattened by the hat and all is well. I guess what I am trying to say is that even though it seems impossible when we wake up in the morning it is all worth it.
We have a wonderful church and church family that I am so grateful for. This is just a post of thankfulness.
